Police Officer- Full Time
The purpose of this position is to enforce all laws fairly and impartially relating to the public’s safety and welfare in the city of Walhalla in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of the Walhalla
Police Department.
The officer will be responsible for protecting persons and properties within the City limits by proactively patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergent and non-emergency calls for service, conducting preliminary and follow up investigations, conducting self-initiated traffic enforcement activity and conducting traffic accident investigations. This position also includes taking an active role in creating and maintaining positive relationships within the community to enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors.
Requirements:
Must possess or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be of good moral character and of temperate.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have or be able to obtain Basic Law Enforcement Class 1 certification.
Salary: $38,700-$44,856 annually
